National Weather Service: Two Tornadoes Hit Near Clarksville
Two tornadoes hit near the town of Clarksville on Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Des Moines conducted a storm survey in Clarksville on Tuesday. The team confirmed that two tornadoes touched down near the town.
The first tornado touched down at 7:55 p.m. Monday about three miles west of town. The EF-1 tornado, with winds of 110 mph, was 250 yards wide and stayed on the ground for a little more than three miles before dissipating at 7:59 p.m. Several farm buildings were damaged by the first tornado.
