Casey Leaders Meet To Discuss Fire at Community Building
Wednesday evening city leaders in Casey held an emergency meeting to discuss the fire at the community building.
Casey’s City Council held the meeting to reassure residents a new community building will be up and running in the future.
The 125 year old building was also used as the City Clerk’s office.
A temporary office will be set up so residents have a place to pay bills and get city related questions answered.
The mayor also said he filed an insurance claim following the fire.
“We`ll have to make sure everything is cleaned up, take a look at the site, and see where we want to put a new building, there should be adequate insurance for a building so that won`t be an issue,” says Casey Mayor Forrest Schnobrich.
City leaders say they’re working with the State Fire Marshal’s office which is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
